Mercury Serif Typeface
typography — 2019
I have always wanted to create a serif typeface of my own. The way serifs can characterise a typeface was something that I wanted to further investigate. That's why I tried to make a typeface that uses its serifs to the extreme. Mercury Serif is a typeface designed with a big difference in the thickness of the strokes and has rounded corners. The serifs almost completely disappear into a point, but even at those small sizes there are no sharp corners. Those same serifs can be connected with each other in order to create interesting white spaces. The name Mercury Serif comes from the Roman god Mercury (Hermes in Greek) and means messenger of the Gods.
